Make search requirements usable across your AEM team.

AEM work often involves several teams. Authors may own page content while developers control components, rendering and redirects. I help identify the right owner for each issue and make the required outcome understandable.

The scope is SEO implementation and web operations support. Deep platform engineering, deployment changes and infrastructure work should be agreed with the responsible AEM development team.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • Authors and developers are unsure who owns an SEO issue.

  • Shared components repeat the same problem across many pages.

  • Publishing checks stop before the rendered website is reviewed.

Specialist work, with a clear purpose.

Template & component review

Assess headings, metadata, links and rendered content across the components used on important pages.

URL & publishing requirements

Document SEO needs for redirects, canonical signals and page organization within the available AEM setup.

Authoring & QA support

Help content teams apply consistent page practices and validate the frontend after publishing.

How the work comes together.

I translate page-level observations into requirements that fit the AEM workflow. Some changes belong in authoring guidance, while others require a component, template or URL-management decision. The review identifies that ownership so the recommendation can reach the team able to implement it.

Validation uses representative published pages and their actual output. That helps detect issues which are not obvious from the authoring interface alone. The handover can include author checks, developer acceptance requirements and examples of the intended page behavior, keeping the technical implementation with the appropriate AEM specialists.

What I need to get started

  • Access to representative authoring and published pages
  • Component or template ownership information
  • A developer contact and an agreed release workflow

The scope is SEO requirements, content operations and QA support. Core AEM development, infrastructure and deployment engineering remain with the responsible platform team.

Questions worth asking.

Can you work within an established AEM delivery process?

Yes. Requirements can be documented for the existing ticket and release workflow. The important part is defining the expected page behavior and a practical way to validate it.

Do authors need separate guidance from developers?

Usually. Authors need repeatable content rules, while developers need component or template acceptance criteria. Separating those responsibilities makes the recommendations easier to implement.

Does this replace an AEM development team?

No. I help define and validate SEO requirements within the project. Changes to application code, infrastructure or deployment processes remain with the appropriate platform specialists.
